One of the best views of San Francisco City is from Coit Tower, on Telegraph Hill at the end of Lomard Street. Walk down the street will bring you to Washington Square Park with some of the best Italian Restaurants in the city including Fior di Italia and Rose Pistolla. My favourites are Moose's (http://www.mooses.com/) ,North Beach Restaurant and Stinking Rose. The are all located at walking distance from Columbus Street.
